Business Advocacy and Government RelationsEconomic Development Commission: The Chamber works close with the EDC on joint projects and a member of our Board is a voting member. Legislative Events: The Chamber routinely hosts legislative forums, debates for both the First selectman and state legislature while also bringing in speakers of note including the Lt. Governor and the Attorney General. Memberships: The Chamber maintains memberships into the Ct Association of Chamber Executives, The New England Association of Chamber Executives and works closely with the CT Businesses and Industry Association (CBIA) to ensure that members are fully informed about government issues that may impact their business CT Business Day at the Capital: The Chamber actively participates in this program to advance business needs with the Legislature. Voice of the Business Community: The Chamber assists businesses with both information an assistance on issues impacting members of the Chamber.
Shoreline Collaborations:The Chamber Has established tow important consortium with Seven Chambers. Stretching from The Q Bridge to the Baldwin Bridge an encompassing the following Chambers: East Haven North Branford, Gilford, Madison, and Clinton. Westbrook and Old Saybrook. This group acts as a single entity in representing areas of mutual concern through the Shoreline Government Relations Committee and the Shoreline Tourism Community. |
