Women in Business

Since its inception 2007, the Chamber’s Women in Business Committee (WIB) has hosted a wide variety of guest speakers covering many topics that all share a singular vision: the desire to address issues of significance to women both in their personal and professional lives.

The Mission of the Women in Business Program is to identify and address issues that are of importance to women on both a personal and professional level.  This program also nurtures an environment in which women can discuss these issues and ultimately lead to a greater sense of empowerment.

The Women in Business Program is unique in that it affords every member an opportunity to serve as a coordinator/chairperson for a particular month. This allows the specific members to assume the responsibility for making all arrangements relative to specific event; from suggesting a  program topic, booking the speaker,  negotiating the food contract and selecting the menu, to introducing the speaker and sponsor at the event. The act of coordinating the event is in and of itself a very important component of each committee member’s personal development.
