Education Committee Educational Seminars: The committee identifies topics of importance that impact businesses and their ability to achieve their desired goals. Seminars while interactive are facilitated by experts in their field. These experts may often be Chamber members but can also include individuals from outside of the community who bring the highest level of expertise. The goal of each session is ensure that each attendee can bring back solutions to issues that may be implemented in their own workplace.
Branford High School and Local Colleges: The group works directly with Branford High School to assist students with an understanding of the expectations associated with the workplace. This includes assisting and participating in Career Day, participating in specific programming designed by the high school to emulate the outside work environment (“Real World”) project and to assist in areas that are mutually beneficial. Additionally, the Committee seeks to work with partners such as the University of New Haven to connect Chamber businesses with potential interns or employees. 
Small Business Resource Center (SBRC): The Small Business Resource Center focuses on creating an interactive dialogue between small business owners for purposes of discussing common issues and offering immediate solutions. The SBRC forums are held via roundtable discussions, webinars and moderated e-discussion boards. |
